Dr. Laxman Singh Rathore is former Director General of Meteorology, India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ministry of Earth Sciences. He served various international bodies such as;
  • Chair, (Acting 2016-19) Inter-governmental Board for Climate Services (IBCS), WMO, United Nations (UN)
  • Vice-Chair, (2012-16) IBCS, WMO
  • Permanent Representative (Ambassador) of India with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), United Nations

  • Vice President, Commission for Agriculture Meteorology, WMO
  • Chairman, Governing Council, SAARC Meteorological Research Centre, Dhaka
  • Scientific Member, 3rd Indian Scientific Expedition to Antarctica (1983-84) and established the first permanent Indian station

  • Made significant contribution towards improving the weather & climate prediction,particularly extreme weather events. He played a lead role in development of Agro- meteorological Advisory Service in India. Published more than 100 research papers, wrote 11 books and 41 book chapters and participated in. He has co-supervised 5 Ph.D. students from reputed institution such as Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi; Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar; Andhra University, Vishakhapattanam and Banares Hindu University, Varanasi. Former President and Fellow of Indian Meteorological Society and President as well as Honorary Fellow of Association of Agro-Meteorologists. He is recipient of over a dozen national awards for his contribution in the area of meteorology and service to the society.

    Prof. A B Gupta
    Professor-HAG Department of Civil Engineering, MNIT Jaipur, JAIPUR, Rajasthan

    Prof. Gupta holds B.E. (Civil) from MREC Jaipur; M. Tech. and PhD (Environmental Science and Engineering) degrees from CESE, IIT Bombay. He joined MNIT as a lecturer of Civil Engineering in 1984 and is serving as a professor since 1996. His administrative assignments at MNIT include HOD (Civil), Dean R&D, Dean (Faculty Affairs) and Director.
    He has published/presented over 450 papers in various international/national journals/conferences, guided Fifteen PhDs and over 100 Masters’ theses, taken up several prestigious research/consultation projects funded by national/ international agencies, and received many academic/ research awards. He has been a non-official member of RPCB and Environment and Health Board of Rajasthan and several important committees of DST(GOI), BIS, IRC etc.
    His major research contributions are in the areas of biological waste treatment and Environment and health linkages that have benefitted large segments of the society. Besides a distinguished category lecture at Iowa State University, he has delivered several invited talks, keynote addresses, memorial lectures at national and international institutions and conferences across the world. He is fellow of IE(I), IAEM and life member of many reputed organizations. He has been a member of many selection committees of IITs, NEERI, NITs and other universities.

    Prof. Ganesh Datt Sharma is working as Emeritus Professor of Physics and Former Dean (Research and development) at The LNM Institute of Information Technology (Deemed University), Jaipur (Raj.), India since Nov, 2015. Prof. Sharma obtained his Ph.D. degree from India Institute of Technology in 1985 and after than he had joined as Assistant Professor at JNV University, Jodhpur (Raj), India in Nov 1985. After than he had appoint- ed as Professor of Physics and Electronics in 2004, in same university. In 1990 he was awarded a prestigious BOYCAST Fellowship by Department of Science and Technology, Govern- ment of India in 1990 to work as Visiting Scientist at Depart- ment of Electrical and Computer Science, The state University of New Jersey for two years. His area of Research is Organic solar cells, nanocrystalline organic-inorganic hybrid solar cells and fuel cells, organic electronics and nanomaterials for energy conversion and storage. He has delivered many invited/plenary lectures in many International conferences in India and abroad. Subject expert in project advisory committee, Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India, DRDO, Government of India. He is Subject expert: European commission for proj- ect evaluation, Russian Science foundation, Moscow.
